Life Update

Tim graduates from BJU with an M.A. in Bible

Another school year is over, and I thought perhaps we should post an update to catch some of you up on what we are doing.

On May 5, 2007, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Bible. Ashley has a year left on her M.A. in Rhetoric and Public Address (RPA).

I still coordinate the IBE, along with my part-time work on computers, websites, databases, and a variety of projects that bring business and technology together.

Ashley is working at Day Camp this summer, which is a welcome change of pace from office work. In the fall, she will be teaching freshmen speech classes at Bob Jones while she finishes her degree.

I’ll begin work on a Master in Business Administration degreeĀ (MBA) in the fall.

I teach the teen Sunday school class at our church, which I very much enjoy. Earlier this summer Ashley and I took the teens to Harvest Time Bible Camp in NC. Unlike any other camp we’d been to (either as campers or as staff), this one requested that the churches sending campers provide their own counselors, so Ashley and I were in cabins for the week. It reminded me a lot of my two summers counseling at Camp Assurance!

Ashley helps with the music at church quite a bit, among other things.

Both of us are teaching TOP classes. I teach several computer classes (Word, Excel, Access, graphic design, backup 101, computer troubleshooting, intro to computers, Internet101, etc.) and Ashley is taking a few of the basic computer classes this fall plus a class on digital scrapbooking.

Besides teaching and the week at camp, we’ve had a busy summer in other ways also. I added a dishwasher and a new cabinet to our kitchen, which turned out to be a fairly major project. We’ve worked hard at re-seeding our lawn so as to see green instead of reddish-brown clay. We’ve worked on various other home-improvement projects and played racquetball and even bought mountain bikes recently, which we have ridden every few days so far.

I guess that pretty well covers it for the time being. Watch this space for semester reviews in the near future.
